THE SPIRIT OF LAWLESSNESS IS A SIGN OF THE TIMES
“You say you want a revolution, Well, you know, we all want to be free … But when you talk about destruction, Don’t you know that you can count me out … and if you carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, You ain’t gonna make it with anyone, anyhow! – Revolution, The Beatles.
Don’t allow yourself to be deceived and drawn into the Spirit of Lawlessness, it’s a sign of the times.
The Country is upset, it has every right to be, and this includes folks on both sides of the political fence. I understand this, most I think do. But its very easy to get drawn into the wrong thing at the wrong time with the wrong crowd.
Were the Lord here now as he was in Judea in 33 AD, would he be storming our capitol and siding with the Zealots of the time, who will ultimately be as responsible for destroying their nation and bringing about it’s total destruction and the scattering of is people into the nations of the world? NO! Not only can I say, HE wouldn’t, I can tell you authoritatively, He didn’t.
We often forget; when GOD sent his son into the world, it was a Roman World, and those who teach history about the glories of Rome while praising its advancement and peace (Pax Romana or Roman Peace) They often overlook the fact that it was on of the most vicious empires in all of world history. The Roman Empire was the model upon which the Third Reich of Nazi Germany was built

The Third Reich, meaning “Third Realm” or “Third Empire”, alluded to the Nazis’ conceit that Nazi Germany was the successor to the Holy Roman Empire with Germany as its center. The Third Reich, which Hitler and the Nazis referred to as the Thousand Year Reich, ended in May 1945 after just 12 years, when the Allies defeated Germany, ending World War II in Europe. World War II was the deadliest military conflict in history. An estimated total of 70–85 million people perished, or about 3% of the 1940 world population.
We’ve all become very adept at identifying the Signs of the Times and pointing out the warning details of Bible Prophecy, so much so, that we seem to overlook the fact that one of the major marks of these times is the spirit of Lawlessness!
“And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:10-12
The Mark of THE BEAST isn’t just a NUMBER, it’s a SPIRIT, the Spirit of Lawlessness. The AntiChrist is referred to as, THE LAWLESS ONE.
When I see the thousands gather to protest and express their anger and anxiety over wrongs they feel have been perpetrated against them, I see democracy at work and freedoms being expressed; freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution. But when I see the Seat of Our Government being stormed by a mindless mob creating mayhem, acting like thugs and doing precisely the same things as those who on the other side of the dispute were doing not far from where I live, that is, looting, destroying the property of others and seizing areas that do not legitimately belong to them. I have to say, “This ain’t good!” This isn’t what I believe, and it’s certainly not something anyone can claim, “God told me to do it!” If they make that claim, my first response is going to be, Which god are you talking about? You’re certainly not talking about the GOD of the Bible, Not Jesus Christ.
To minimize the danger of the times we’re living in would be ludicrous; be assured, our enemies, the nation states who hate us and all our nation stands for, are glued to their TV’s and dancing with glee. Not only that, it’s a pretty good bet that they’re marshaling all the resources available to them right now; to add to the mayhem, taking advantage of it to undermine and weaken our structure from within, with an eye toward its collapse.
On top of all this, we find ourselves dealing with the largest quarantine in human history; the doors of our churches have been closed for the fear of its spread. Business and economy have been severely curtailed, the experts attempting to handle the crisis claim they’re overwhelmed and our politicians are running about giving more the appearance of being the KEYSTONE COPS rather than responsible elected officials. They seem far more interested in fighting for their place in the pecking order and entrenching themselves in their positions of power and advantage, rather than representing the well-being of the Nation and it People.
The sad thing today is that when you talk to the average man or woman on the street and ask, Do you trust our Government, sadly a great majority will simply laugh sarcastically or outrightly just say, NO! That’s sad, because there are hardworking conscientious men and women at every level who do care, but this isn’t the picture we see. Our media is obsessed with partisan politics and their own bias. Our leadership, in both parties convinces us that their positions (not the ones we elected them to represent) have become more important than the well-being of our people and the stability of our Country. No wonder so many have simply thrown up their hands in disgust with both parties.
Fortunately, there’s still hope, and that hope lays in GOD. Emblazoned on our money, which is seen and spent worldwide, is the motto, “In GOD We Trust.” Perhaps we should take a moment to consider that statement. Is it true? Can GOD be trusted? Is HE there at all? Is HE remotely interested in us and what’s going on in our nation and around the world?
I believe HE is, that he’s at work this very moment; but if you’re expecting him to just leap out of HIS Heaven and come wearing your favorite colors or waving an American Flag or come wearing a Republican or Democrat convention badge, I’m afraid you’re going to be sorely disappointed.
The Temple Officials wanted Jesus to conform to the system they’d ritualized and corrupted, He went around it. The Scribes and the Pharisees constantly challenged Him because He revealed them for what they were, self-righteous purveyors and dispensers of religion who had come to look down on the very people they were to care for. Woe unto you, Scribes, Pharisees, Hypocrites! Jesus said, You shut up Heaven to men and you’re not going in yourselves.
He simply wasn’t the kind of Messiah they’d been hoping for; Yes, he did things no one else had ever done, you know, opened the eyes of the blind, the ears of the deaf, cleansed lepers and restored their lives. He forgave sinners and set them right and gave them a new beginning, delivered people from insane tormenting spirits, even raised the dead; apparently that wasn’t enough. His followers attempted to force Him to be King, but he refused. What kind of Messiah is this?
He wouldn’t speak out against the Roman Occupation, the Zealots hated him for that; Where’s your loyalty Jesus? Who’s side are YOU on? What do you mean, Your Kingdom is not of this World? We just don’t get you Jesus, Why can’t you just be who we want you to be?
Maybe we should all take a step back for a moment and look at things from a different perspective. Yes, many of our churches have been closed; not by mandate or hostility, but out of the fear of spreading a virulent virus that has proven deadly.
We’ve been asked to stay at home; may I make a suggestion? Have you ever thought that this may actually be a good thing? A God-given opportunity in crisis?
Rather than wading out into the mess and dissent, take advantage of the tremendous power and opportunity that are yours, right now. You may feel powerless concerning all the BIG ISSUES the media keeps tossing at you, but how about doing something you can do, right now, right where you are!
Build a strong Christian Home, there’s never been a better opportunity. The stable God-fearing family is the bedrock of our Nation and its hope. You now have an opportunity to take your family back.
Experience the presence of GOD in your own home, gather close with your family in faith’s expression and worship. Your children are actually at home, back under your influence!
How about this; turn that TV off for a while, get off the phone and tablet, just for a bit, and focus on the Faith as a family.
Use the internet constructively; stay in touch with fellow believers, your church and other family members; encourage one another, take advantage of online and other resources your church is providing as well as other trusted Christian resources. There’s more Christian Ministry and Faith Community buzz going on right now than ever in history.
You may have to be selective, not everything out there is palatable; to use an old adage, “Eat the meat and spit out the bones.” Listen to those you trust, not every far flung prophecy somebody throws out there; use discernment! That’s why the LORD gave you His Holy Spirit.
What if in this time, the time of one our Nation’s greatest crisis, when we’re feeling helpless and vulnerable, what if we used this time wisely and to our advantage, to strengthen our homes and our families as the center place of our faith? Doe’s anybody see opportunity here?
Our Nations strength is in her families, does anybody get that. GOD is giving you an opportunity to take your families back! We have an opportunity to build a true social network and expand our relationships. We can come out of this thing much stronger as a people once the air clears. Why? Because The LORD has said, I’ll be with you when the Flood comes, it won’t carry you away. I’ll be with you when the Fire comes, it won’t consume you.
Now let’s read that introductory verse once more and in light of it, see if it now makes more sense to you.
