TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

A SPECIAL FEATURE ARTICLE BY JACK HARRIS

I The Lord Your GOD am a jealous GOD, MY glory will I not give to another.

(Exodus 20:5 & Isaiah 42:8)

I don’t believe for a moment that the Almighty GOD has an ego problem or that HE is the least bit insecure. The Bible is written in human language, with very human concepts to help us understand the nature of spiritual things which are otherwise hard to articulate or wrap our brains around.

GOD’s Glory is something we as morals cannot handle without it corrupting our nature. I sincerely believe this is the message and meaning of the scripture. Something very ugly manifests when we attempt to wear the mantle of GOD’s Glory. This is apparent throughout history.

In fact, the manifestation of the spirit of Antichrist has to do with this very thing; the Deification of Human Nature.

… so that he as God sits in the Temple of God showing himself that he is God.

2 Thessalonians 2:4

This brings us to an understanding of why GOD delights in revealing HIS strength through our weakness. The Apostle Paul makes the case for us and uses himself as an example. He’s dealing with what he refers to as a thorn in his flesh. There’s been endless speculations as to what Paul’s thorn in the flesh was but the most likely thing is that it was just what he said it was; a physical infirmity. An embarrassment to a man who is preaching and teaching concerning the power of GOD and demonstrating the power of the Holy Spirit through his life and ministry.

As he prays for this infirmity to depart on five different occasions, The Lord finally speaks to him and says; MY grace is sufficient for you: for MY strength is made perfect in weakness. What an answer! Paul’s conclusion is that GOD reveals Himself through our weakness so that others may see Him not ourselves.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

THIS CONCEPT SEEMS TO BE ALMOST COMPLETELY ALIEN TO US TODAY.

Which brings me to my point; I had an interesting experience while ministering for our Miracle Crusade in Bucharest, Romania. I was standing in front of the loud speakers after the first service, someone had come up to speak with me when suddenly the band came on with some after service music. It was loud, so loud in fact, that I actually felt my eardrums flutter, something I’d never experienced before. Later that night in my hotel room I got up to walk to the bathroom and the whole room seemed to tilt and spin and I almost went to the floor. Apparently I was suffering from vertigo a condition caused by a disturbance within the inner ear. I’d never experienced this before and I’m going to be afflicted with it for the remainder of my time in Romania.

I couldn’t walk without someone at my side to support me, I couldn’t stand to preach, I had to sit down. Now picture this, I’m the evangelist preaching our healing crusade and I have to be helped to the platform and can’t even stand to preach, imagine! I felt humiliated. If I were one of those in attendance, I think I’d have taken one look at me and fled.

“That guy’s the Healing Evangelist? I’m out of here! He looks like he’s fixing to die!”

Fortunately, my infirmity didn’t seem to bother anyone but me. I preached the Gospel message and The Lord confirmed it with miracles of healing following as HE always has. It’s the Message, not the Man that has the power to touch people.

Each night it was the same, I preached and The Lord Jesus saved and healed people; it was glorious! The altar space was filled with people wanting to receive Jesus as their savior with miracles of healing manifesting. In fact, during the four nights of the crusade there were six tumors that simply disappeared from people’s bodies, one of them was a very large visable ovarian tumor a woman had suffered with for years.

When the miracles began to happen others rushed forward and wanted personal prayer from me; something that is counterproductive in a Mass Evangelism Healing Crusade focused on demonstrating the power and reality of Christ and His Word. I was able to Testify to the crowd,

It’s The Lord, Jesus Christ who is among you doing the healing, not me! I didn’t touch one of you! These miracles are a sign that The Kingdom of God has come and the Finger of GOD is among you!

There’s a powerful truth revealed here; GOD is not looking for Superstars or Pretty people to work through. HE’s looking for ordinary people of faith who know HIM and have experienced HIS redemptive power and are willing to take HIM at HIS Word and in faith obey HIM and take the Gospel to those who do not know HIM.

Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel; And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.

THIS WAS THE LORD’S DOING AND IT WAS MARVELOUS IN OUR SIGHT! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

EGYPTIAN CHURCH BURNT TO GROUND

Al Minya, Upper Egypt

Today is Good Friday in Egypt, one of the most important days of the year for Egyptian Christians. Sometime in the early hours of this morning a fire broke out in Al Minya’s large Coptic Christian Church literally razing it completely to the ground and destroying all its contents. The whole of the Christian community went into deep shock and mourning as they gathered for prayer at the site over this tragic loss. The cause of the fire is as yet undetermined. Terrorism has not been ruled out but the facts are not yet in. What we do know is that this was one of the biggest Christian gatherings in the region as people expected to come and worship this morning. Our man in Al Minya. Bro. A.J.  shared the deep grief all Christians felt on this, one of the Holiest days of the year. “The people could not stop weeping, everyone was crying!” This is a tremendous blow to the Christians of Egypt and they feel it keenly.

Despite this, their purpose to worship on this day was not derailed. When the ashes cooled all chipped in and cleared the rubble and gathered to worship within the ruins of their church. Bro. A.J. sent me these photos. I was deeply touched to see all the people that came worshipping, literally in the ashes of their despair.

Careless seems the great Avenger; history’s pages but record  One death-grapple in the darkness ‘twixt old systems and the Word;  Truth forever on the scaffold, Wrong forever on the throne,— Yet that scaffold sways the future, and, behind the dim unknown,  Standeth God within the shadow, keeping watch above his own. – James Russell Lowell

Our Brethren in Egypt have asked nothing of us other than we join with them in prayer.

REACHING OUT TO IDP’S & REFUGEES OF N. IRAQ

PC Duhok in the Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq continues to make an impact on their community and the surrounding villages. The area is still overwhelmed with Syrian refugees and Displaced Iraqi’s. The economy is still severely strained with little work available. Our church and its people continue to be a ray of sunshine and hope in a land that has been passing through a long dark night of despair. Despite this, things are beginning to turn but the changes are coming slowly and the needs are many right now. It’s a genuine miracle that we have several churches now in Iraq and faithful people on the ground who are doing the necessary work. As we continue to stand with our Iraqi brethren we will continue to see a harvest where, not that long ago, it seemed an impossible dream. Now it’s a manifest reality for which we praise and thank our Lord.

“THIS IS THE LORD’S DOING AND IT’S MARVELOUS IN OUR SIGHT!”

I want to thank each one of you who have labored with us faithfully over the years to make this a reality. We’ve not only covered much ground over here, we’ve broken the  ground together, we’ve planted together and we’re now harvesting precious fruit. Check out the short video featuring Pastors Layth & Raad and the men and women of PC Dohuk.

MIDDLE EAST REGIONAL RECONCILIATION IN PROGRESS

Israel, Iraq, Iran and Saudi Arabia

Kurdistan Of Iraq Report – April 2019

AUDIO REPORT:

Pastor Layth confirms the report I received and shares in this brief audio the news as they’re hearing it in the Middle East.

Behind the scenes things are quietly but powerfully changing in the Middle East with the major players in the region.

Israel, Iraq, Iran and Saudi Arabia are currently negotiating reconciliation between themselves; THIS IS MAJOR NEWS! Yet we’re hearing little of it in the media. Perhaps this is due to the prevailing skepticism that anything can or will change in this part of the world yet it’s happening now. It may still be too early to predict the outcome for many but that which seems impossible is now falling into place and yes, it’s linked to the prophecies of the Bible; especially that which is revealed in Isaiah 19.

While the armchair prophecy experts argue over what this means or what’s next, let’s step aside from all that for a moment and consider the strategic opportunity Christ is giving His Church. Jesus clearly told the disciples that it was not for them to figure it all out and make up a calendar of events concerning that which is in and at the Father’s discretion only. He told us to watch and pray ant be sensitive to the signs of the times He gave us; the purpose? To be prepared for his return, obviously; but also to seize the harvest opportunities that He would open before us.

WE CAN BE SO BUSY PREDICTING THE OUTCOME OF PROPHECY THAT WE IGNORE IT’S HARVEST POTENTIAL AND OPPORTUNITIES

However the chips fall out as the future unfolds, we need to seize the day while it’s still here. We all know well enough that a night is coming when no man can work. That night isn’t here yet but we are! It’s still the Churches time, that’s why we’re still here.

For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. 1 Corinthians 16:9 (KJV)

Open doors and opportunity from God are not necessary easy as the Apostle duly notes. We understand that adversity is often part and parcel with the mission … but so is the opportunity and potential for harvest. We are entering a fresh SEASON of opportunity to reap a great potential harvest if we’ll lay hold of it.

From Out Of Egypt!

Why is Egypt so important?

  • It’s the heart of the Arab world.
  • It was the birthplace of pan-Arabism under Gamal Nasser,
  • It was the linchpin of Middle East peace under Anwar Sadat.
  • 80 million people – as many as Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Syria combined.
  • It has a large and vigorous civil society, feisty, independent media, a broad array of political forces, and a well-respected judiciary.

If Egypt can make the transition to democracy, it will lead the way to a new era for the Arab world. If Cairo falls back to dictatorship of one variety or another, it is unlikely the rest of the region will move on without it.

“The Arab Spring will live or die in Egypt.”

Michele Dunne and Robert Kagan – Brookings – March 7, 2011

These observations published back in 2011 have proven to be spot on accurate and just as relevant in 2019 as they were back then.

As Believers, we can be kind of lopsided in our understanding of Egypt’s spiritual importance in the Bible as well as her prophetic destiny.

“SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL”

For most in the West, Egypt has become our catch all metaphor for worldliness, bondage to sin and resistance to GOD.

So much so that we can be blinded to what the Bible actually says about the nations place in the strategic purpose of GOD.

Egypt provided safe haven for the Christ Child

Behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. So he took the child and his mother and departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

“Out of Egypt have I called my son.”

Mt.2:13-15

Then there’s the Isaiah 19 prophecy; which speaks of the Egyptians as GOD’S people and foresees a future alliance between Egypt, Assyria (Iraq) and Israel – a blessing in the land.

It’s very obvious that Egypt is not only important in the balance of today’s Middle Eastern political process but it also plays a vital role in the spiritual realm as well.

We’ve been given a powerful open door of opportunity into the nation as well as the right personnel on the ground to work with. Brother Abo. Joshua is a tireless Egyptian Evangelist who has through his labors opened the outstanding doors of opportunity we now enjoy. To give just a brief idea of the range of impact we’re talking about this is what was accomplished through A.J. ministry just this last year.

  • Ministry in 42 different churches
  • 4 Different Conferences For pastors and leaders
  • Egyptian Women’s Revival with Pam Howard with over 1500 women attending with several hundred saved and many healed.
  • 4 Separate One Day Seminars for Pastors and Wives (120 in attendance).
  • Winter Blanket Outreach to Villages of Upper Egypt
  • School Supplies for 500 village kids

Thousands heard the Gospel and were touched this last year with hundreds saved and miraculously healed.

THIS IS MORE THAN BUSINESS AS USUAL – THIS IS REVIVAL IN EGYPT!

fc04b6e0-d450-410e-969d-3e587e8c9a42

THIS NEXT WEEK IN EGYPT:   Bro. A.J. will gather with 75 pastors and leaders for 3 days between the 25th – 27th of March for strategic training, planning and prayer.

We have big plans for Egypt in the coming months and we intend to move while the doors are open and the opportunity is before us.

I want to invite you to move with us; to help make an impact that has the potential to change the face of Egypt and the whole of the Middle East.

CAN IT BE DONE?

OF COURSE IT CAN, IF WE’RE WILLING TO DO WHAT IT TAKES.

Get behind us and get behind Bro. A.J. – Be part of our winning team

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN IRAQ, EGYPT & THE MIDDLE EAST?

The Big Picture as it unfolds into 2019

The Big Picture

It’s a process, it’s real and it’s happening before our eyes! But sometimes we lose sight of this reality in the flurry of information thrown our way on a daily basis. Then there’s the shear magnitude of the task and the efforts involved; they may not realistically register in our thinking. I credit much of this to how we receive and digest information in what’s come to be known as the information age.

With today’s Internet, Smartphone and Social Media technology we’re literally drowning in a global flood of continuous digital banter and opinion.

“IN THE FUTURE, EVERYONE WILL BE
WORLD-FAMOUS,
FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES”
-ANDY WARHOL

Make that 5 minutes Andy. With the of arrival internet technology the artist’s prediction has seemingly come to pass.

Today’s media has created a world of political bias, News bytes of perpetual threat and disasters mingled with half-truths, conspiracy theories or outright lies.

THE EARTH IS FLAT,
AMERICA NEVER WENT TO THE MOON,
THE ALIENS ARE COMING!
BIGFOOT’S RUNNING AMUCK IN ALL FIFTY STATES.
ELVIS IS STILL ALIVE!

Mix this with the fact that everyone now has a voice and an opinion about most everything and the tools to express it and you have a World with a very short and jaded attention span. This doesn’t mean we don’t care, we can simply be overwhelmed by the abundance of it all.

THE MIRACLE OF IRAQ, EGYPT, ISRAEL
AND THE MIDDLE EAST

Do you realize that prior to 2004, Iraq was virtually closed and isolated from the outside world and to the Gospel? Until recently, the Middle East has been regarded as the most resistant and unproductive mission field on earth. Few, including me, had a burden for it. Yet the peace and prosperity of the whole world has centered around the fortunes of this region for the last seventy years. Actually, much longer than that when you factor in world history and take into account that this region of the world has spiritually always been the turf under dispute.

DoomsdayClock1280

The Middle East Conflict has virtually shaped the world we now live in. The rebirth of Israel and the prophetic miracle of the return of Jews to their homeland after nearly two thousand years of exile has had the fingers of the Superpowers on or near the trigger buttons that would launch World War III since 1948. The Doom’s Day clock established by concerned Nuclear Scientists in 1947 has hovered at two minutes until Midnight for some time now.

We’ve witnessed the prophetic warnings of the Bible unfolding before our eyes. The alignment of nations, the largest humanitarian crisis in terms of human displacement since WWII; the result of the Syrian Civil War. Iran, Turkey, Ethiopia, Libya, the Saudis, the Superpowers, they’re all in place. Today’s headlines read like the Bible’s prophecies. Wars, rumors of wars, nation rising up against nation … but the end is not yet.

IS THERE ANY GOOD NEWS OUT THERE?
ABSOLUTELY! – YOU’RE IT!

The constant barrage of bad news and catastrophic events (good new doesn’t sell) is responsible for our resultant apocalyptic mindset; to the point that we can miss the fact that there is a Bigger Picture, GOD’s picture.

Having lived and ministered in the Middle East for many years, I’ve found that my horizons have significantly broadened to an understanding that there may be far more going on in terms of God’s purpose in the prophetic and its fulfillment than the popular assessments of our day take into consideration.

Prophecy was given so that we’ll be aware of the times when they drew near and be able to locate and orientate ourselves regarding them. Still, if not careful, we can overlook this bigger picture and its meaning; That of the opportunity for World Redemption. Despite all the negatives, the facts are that right now there is an unprecedented response to the Gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide.

THIS IS A SEASON OF OPPORTUNITY
BUT IT WON’T LAST FOREVER.

Millions of lives are at stake. People in the Middle East started coming to Christ by the hundreds, that’s now escalating into the thousands, soon we’ll hear of hundreds of thousands and beyond.

I feel that it will be a quick work, but not in the simplistic idea that it just happens overnight. The task is mind bogglingly huge!

LAYTH

We’re talking the about the reestablishment of Christianity in the very lands where it began and was later driven out, almost to the point of extinction. All that is now changing.

This is serious business! There are evil and hostile forces bent on preventing the Gospel from gaining a new foothold. Just this last year and early this year, in Egypt, in the very place where we work, we’ve seen Christians massacred by radical anti-Christian forces. The same has been true in Iraq. At the same time we seen favor and even protection from the governments now in place within these nations. Do we get the significance of this? GOD Himself has opened doors that no man can shut but if we don’t understand this, these same doors of opportunity can be ignored.

“WE ARE REBUILDING THE CHURCH IN IRAQ!”
-PASTOR LAYTH IBRAHIM

Do we grasp the power and importance of what our brother has declared? When I went to Kurdistan of Iraq in 2004 I didn’t see another Born Again believer for three years. Today that has all changed, not only through our efforts but through the efforts of others as well, many of these we opened the doors for.

Today we have five churches which pastor Layth has planted and that’s not counting those he planted with our help before he joined our organization. Now we have a Middle Eastern Base of Operations, a full facility for training, conferencing and sending others throughout Iraq and the surrounding nations including Egypt where we are currently working.

This is an enormous task and it won’t be realized overnight. Line upon line, precept upon precept, brick by brick.

As most of you know, the economy of Kurdistan was decimated during the ISIS occupation of Mosul. That’s now past but the damage it did is not. The recovery is slow. Billions of dollars were lost, jobs evaporated, even government employees go months at a time working with no pay. The astonishing thing is that we’ve accomplished most of our building during this period but could not have done so without outside help.

OUR CONTINUED SACRIFICE AND SUPPORT IS VITAL
TO THE ONGOING SUCCESS OF THE MISSION.

OUR ENEMY WILL NOT REST, NEITHER CAN WE!
WE MUST HOLD OUR GROUND
AND VIGOROUSLY PUSH AHEAD TO GAIN MORE
IF WE ARE TO SUCCEED.

Big things are afoot for this coming year, you’ve already seen powerful results this last year in both Iraq and Egypt. We anticipate this will continue and be even more productive this year. If this is to happen we need you on board with us.

Watch as new and exciting things begin to unfold as we continue to build and enlarge our reach into these nations and expand our vision for World Evangelism.

Thank you! All who have gone the distance with us these years, you’ve made a crucial difference in the outcome. That which was once just a vision is now an expanding reality and GOD’s not finished with you yet.

Sincerely Your Brother and Partner in Faith,

Jack Harris

Winter Blankets – Upper Egypt

WinterBlanketsCLICK HERE TO WATCH VIDEO

It’s cold in Upper Egypt right now. We don’t usually think of cold weather when we think of Egypt but it can get very cold here and without much in the way of heating in the homes, warm blankets are a real blessing.

The prominent figure in the photos is Brother Habib. He ministers tirelessly for the cause of Christ in Upper Egypt. He’s a joy to work with and very good at what he does. His ministry is well known in Egypt and he’s had a huge impact in Upper Egypt. He’s set up all of our meetings for the Women’s Revival Impacts as well as the many churches we were able to touch while we were there.

ANOTHER BUSLOAD OF CHRISTIANS MASSACRED

Just last month another busload of Christians were massacred by Islamic extremists in the Al Minya region. Seven Coptic Christians were killed and many more were injured in the attack upon their bus as they were on their way to services. This is an ongoing reality in this nation and yet there is an outbreak of genuine revival that is happening here in the churches we have the privilege to work with. This is unprecedented. In the past, the churches here have been … static, to say the least. That’s changing now Thanks to Evangelistic Outreaches into the villages to touch the people such as Bro. Habib organizes and heads up.

Habib also works with the Churches and Pastors of the region bringing in dynamic ministry and training which has had a positive and fruitful impact. GOD is moving Wonderfully in Egypt.

Watch the video presentation and you’ll get an actual feel for the region and the people who are being reached and helped. The people in this region of Egypt are among the poorest of the poor.

An Outreach Near Mosul

ISIS has been purged from Mosul but there are still dangerous and hostile elements there that target Christians, Kurds and Yazidis. Recently our team ventured across the Kurdistan border to an “Undisclosed” area near Mosul where lives are still reeling under the impact and devastation they’ve experienced over the last few years. The story speaks for itself and though our workers use caution in their decisions as to where to go, they are a risk when they approach what has been regarded as one of Iraq’s most dangerous cities. This particular outreach was led by Pastor Raad, Pastor Layth’s Associate pastor. The mission was to bring practical relief and minister hope and faith by sharing the Good News of the Gospel.

In Loving Memory

Margaret (Maggie) A. Garcia June 9, 1943 – December 7, 2018

We’ve suffered as serious loss to our ministry this month as well as a dear and lifelong Friend. JHM Home Office Administrator, Margaret A. Garcia was killed in a tragic automobile accident just a few miles from our office in Chehalis, WA. Margaret was THE vital component to running our home office based here in the USA. The vacuum left by her sudden departure will be felt for months to come as we revamp and reorganize JHM to run without her skills. She handled the ministry business administration and mission communications dispersal for us. Maggie was tirelessly devoted to our mission in the Middle East and our other international expressions. Simply put, she took care of everything on the home front. She loved the ministry, her local church, her friends and family. Most of all, she had a radiant love for our LORD. To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. Still, we who are left behind keenly feel our friends absence. We miss her. Margaret was 75 years old when she transitioned this life. She had, as I think most who knew her will agree, the energy and zest for life of one half her age. She will always be regarded as a part of our family. Perhaps that’s the best tribute to her life, she was family to all of us who knew her.

A celebration of her life service will be held at Grace Foursquare Church in Centralia WA at 11:00 AM Saturday January 12, 2019.

We have established the Margaret Garcia Memorial Fund at Grace Foursquare Church to receive monetary gifts in lieu of flowers.

The fund will be used to help the hurting and extend the message of hope to those who are without it. (note: this fund is through Grace Foursquare Church please direct your gifts for Margaret there).

The church’s address is: 3030 Borst Ave Centralia, Washington 98531. Their phone number is (360) 736-0778

George “Rusty” Dunn, Margaret’s brother

We ask you, who so faithfully support us, to kindly bare with us while we pick up the pieces and revamp our ministry, office and facilities here in Washington. Our Middle Eastern works are all fully functional and are carrying on uninterrupted. They depend on our support which is handled through our main Missions Office at Praise Chapel Missions, Rancho Cucamonga, California.

All email correspondence concerning Jack Harris Ministries, JHMin, from this point on should be directed to Jackharrismin@aol.com

Thank You Maggie!

Goodbye for now, we’ll see you again soon. Maranatha

REVIVAL IN UPPER EGYPT

130 PEOPLE SAVED!

The Churches in Upper Egypt held a series of four Revival meeting over the last few weeks. So far 130 people have come to Christ. People were also healed in the services as our brethren prayed for the sick. The Church in Egypt is coming alive!

This is not just business as usual in Egypt, our brethren continue to forge ahead and contend for the faith; this is a true move of GOD birthed out of the dark times the nation has passed through over last the decade. Now there’s liberty and a wonderful season of opportunity to see a real breakthrough for the Gospel in this ancient nation. There’s still opposition here and evangelism can be dangerous but it’s also a time when there’s interest and response to the Christian message as we’ve not seen before. We need to move while this door of opportunity is before us. We have the potential to touch hundreds of thousands of lives in a relatively short period of time if we’ll back what GOD is obviously doing right now.

Egypt is considered to be the most important of the Arab nations, its population is predominately Islamic. It’s also one of the poorest countries in the Middle East, especially Upper Egypt where we are focusing our efforts.

Winter is beginning in Egypt

and it’s getting cold. We’re planning an outreach into the villages we’re working in to show concern for their people and to engender good will. The LORD said, “Let your light so shine among men that they may SEE your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.”

We want to provide 200 blankets for needy families we’re working with. The cost to provide these blankets is $3600. This provision means a great deal to these families and is a real expression of our concern and care for the people.

“He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.”  Proverbs 22:9

This is a wonderful opportunity to lend a hand to a people who need our help and to further the spread of the Gospel in Egypt and the Middle East.

We also need to uphold and support our Faithful Workers who are doing a great job and laboring diligently for the cause of Christ. We are blessed to have willing indigenous ministries in the Middle East but they need our help to get the job done.
